Lanús Wins South American Recopa

Lanús defeated Flamengo 3-2 and won 4-2 on aggregate to become the South American Recopa champion. The match, held at Maracanã Stadium, ended after 90 minutes of regulation time and 30 minutes of extra time. At the 29th minute, Rodrigo Castillo opened the scoring following a defensive and goalkeeping error. However, the home team equalized with penalties converted by Giorgian De Arrascaeta in the 36th minute and Jorginho in the 40th. In extra time, defender José Canale scored in the 12th minute, and midfielder Dylan Aquino sealed the victory in stoppage time with a solo run and a finish past the goalkeeper. This victory marked 'Granate's' ninth title in history, their fourth international one, and the second for head coach Mauricio Pellegrino.
